Old  I am pro, I use notepad phase over?

A while back all the 'pro / real' programmers showed the notepad icon or 'made with notepad' on their website... This has phased out?

Do you still use notepad, or what other program do you use?

I use dreamweaver, simply because of the beautiful colours.

I still use notepad, though mostly now it's for just quick snippets of code in either Lingo or C#. I use Dreamweaver for my web coding now a days just because it's what I've been teaching and I've gotten used to the colour coded code

I tell my students that I expect them to be able to code me something in notepad just as well as they do in Dreamweaver. Too many of them fall into the trap of Dreamweaver's Design View and start asking questions that could easily be solved if they just looked at the code.

One reason I like Dreamweaver is because they are working in conjunction with the W3C WASP to make their "out of the box" code more compliant with the W3C recommendations.

I use notepad, mainly for the fact that it's fast and easy to use, but then again I don't get the syntax colours. I do like dreamweaver though, the UI is great.

I tend to reevaluate my preferred IDE every year or so, but Textpad (.com) has been my editor of choice for many years. I don't put a button on my sites to brag though

Yup, TextPad has been with me ever since I found it about 2-3 years ago. Its the best text editor out there. You can literally make your own syntax hilighting, manage a few files at once, etc. Its awesome and I recommend it for anyone that wants something different for a change. Try it and I think you'll like it.

Dreamweaver8 is nice...( syntax hightlighting and all ) but my system is pretty old ( even after i've tweaked it ) so the more resources that i have for photoshop the better, i just use notepad (plus i really don't like the design view as they're at best inaccurate with how my css really looks).

Regards,
Kenneth

Didn't know i could add syntax highlighting, only edit the colour.

I've also been using textpad once i saw a link (about a year ago). Love the simple design, low ram and custom coding adding

However there is microsoft expressions (everything from images to flash to html) coming out soon and i may be using the web editor from that
