Use Keywords from WP Traffic Tools or Rank Tracker to power Automation – New Shortcodes! – List Management Tools

This latest release is a pretty big one. Lets take a look!

New Shortcodes!

We’ve never had any good article shortcodes, but now we do! We’ve added the following shortcodes to the BlogSense arsenal.
  1. Knol.Google.com
  2. Articlebase
  3. Ezine (may require proxies)
  4. Yahoo’s AssociatedContent.

Use Organic Traffic to Power Keywords Module.

If you use WP Traffic Tools or the&nbsp; Rank Tracker Plugin then your organic keyword traffic is being recorded in your database. Use this traffic to automatically generate content targeting your natural long tail keywords. With this feature you can build a highly targeted blog that focuses on you long-tail keywords without having to do the research yourself. This is a viral application of autoblogging. I’m interested to see what can be done with Hopefully the features sell themselves.

***NEW*** URL List Management Tools:
  1. RSS Feed(s) to URL List (including keywords)
  2. URL List to URL+Keywords List.
  3. Mass Shorten URLs from URL List
  4. Autogenerate noreply email addresses on the fly.

Other Cool New Features
  1. Manually edit script timeout setting for automation&nbsp;run.
  2. Can now disable duplicate content filters for RSS module (For RSS feeds containing one URL that dynamically updates with new content daily).

Guys, BlogSense is nearing perfection thanks to the help of it’s users+ advisers.

If you have ever been dissatisfied with BlogSense maybe these newest updates will entice you back. We’re not completely done yet though. There is still some minor improvements that are in store, and I’ll try to get some more shortcodes in too. But from here on out I’ll be working on improving WP Traffic Tools and also starting on another project I’m hoping to have released sometime this winter.

Thank you for being a customer, hope you enjoy.

Old  BlogSense Fall 2011 Updates Review

Hey Guys, It's been a while since my latest post but BlogSense is still very active and it still respected as a state of the art curation and automation software for Wordpress. Let's take a look at some of the latest updates:

PULL CONTENT FROM ANY SOURCE USING SHORTCODE & KEYWORDS
I’ve finally added in a new shortcode that will allow BlogSense to attempt to find and source content from any site using a shortcode + keyword combination.
The shortcode looks like this:
{customsource:http://www.amazines.com:%keyword%:1:<div><p><span><font>< br><ul><ol><li><b><strong><i><u><table><img><a>}
and the parameters can be defined as so:
p1: Defines the shortcode
p2: Defines URL to pool results from.
p3: Defines the keyword to search the url for results.
p4: Limits how many content items are returned from source.
p5: Defines the HTML tags to preserve.

NEW SHORTCODE - [IFNOIMAGE][/IFNOIMAGE] - ALSO, EXTRA BROKEN IMAGE DEDECTIONS ADDED

We’ve done a quick update that adds the following:
Broken image detection

In past circumstances, whenever we would use image generation shortcodes within our content postbody sometimes no image would be generated and this would cause a broken image to be left. Until now we’ve had to circumvent this issue by using 3rd party broken image detection plugins, and luckily it happened so rarely that it was not too big of an issue.
To better perfect our systems we now check for these broken images and remove them before publishing. You may have also noticed that now 3rd party plugin shortcodes are previewable within BlogSense’s preview mode.

If no image is detected then…

We also now have a shortcode called [ifnoimage][/ifnoimage] that, if used, checks the postbody to see if any images are present and if they are not then whatever is enclosed within the shortcode is included within the postbody template. This will help ensure our content has images when the syndicated content does not naturally contain any.
Here’s an example bit of code that demonstrates how we might use this shortcode:
[IFNOIMAGE]{googleimg:%title_filtered%:1:275px:300px:first}[/IFNOIMAGE]
%postbody%

CREATE CATEGORIES FROM KEYWORDS LIST

We’ve two new features added into BlogSense along with some inner code improvements. We’ve added the ability to use a keyword list to create WordPress categories. This used to be a BlogSense feature until it was discontinued about a year ago. Good to have it back!
The other feature is the ability to enable/disable the automatic tagging system on a campaign level. Before we had a singular global setting to manage our auto-tagging strategies. Now we can better control tag behavior.
What can we do with autotagging?

  • Disable auto-tagging entirely.
  • Use Yahoo Terms Extraction to create tags from the post content.
  • Use parts of the title as tags.
  • Use tags already found within the WordPress database, selected at random.
  • Use a custom tag list pasted into a textarea.
  • Control the amount of tags to use for each post.

We can also use CSV tokens to create tags for our CSV Importing module.

BLOGSENSEWP SWITCHES FROM GOOGLE TRANSLATE API TO BING TRANSLATE API

BlogSense supports Bing Translation API!

Hello!
Over the last month, anyone working with the translation features of BlogSense may have noticed that campaigns were halted because of the inability to translate content.
The news related to this phenomenon is that Google has disabled their free API based translation service in favor for a paid translation service.
It is our intention to eventually offer the option to either use Bing’s free service or Google’s paid service, but for now we have introduced Bing’s API based service to restore translation features back to BlogSense users.
Which service is better? I have no clue and have done zero case studies. One would think that because of weath & pride, Google would produce a superior translation service, but hey, Microsoft is a pretty altruistic and powerful company as well. It just might be that Bing’s service is superior!
API limitations and throttling

BlogSense does provide an application ID for global use, but there are use limitations available to each APIKey. It might be prudent to grab your own APIKey from Bing.com. BlogSense provides a settings area within the Automation->Global Settings area where you can paste in and overwrite the default api key with your personal api key.

  Old  Latest BlogSense Update!

In BlogSense 9.9.8.1 we’ve added a new shortcode that helps BlogSense users tap into the Traffic Kaboom! content network. This API is being called Content Kaboom!

What is Traffic Kaboom? Traffic Kaboom is a large private resource sharing service where users leverage multiple blog networks, article directories, social accounts, and other advanced distribution services to promote user submitted content.

From the words of it’s founder, Jason Potash:

Traffic Kaboom is a traffic source that does not rely exclusively on Google or any other search engine. The concept behind Traffic Kaboom is simple. We provide a syndication service. You click a few buttons, fill in some information… and then we “drip-feed” and distribute your article &amp; video content to several thousand good quality(human reviewed) sites that our syndication partners have owned since 2006.
Content Kaboom! is the result of an API developed to help maximize the distribution potential of it’s users’ submitted content. Jason Potash was kind enough to approach BlogSense and offer it’s content services to us for free.

Also, from speaking with Jason Potash, he says that 200-300 articles are submitted by their users daily for syndication, the articles are moderated for quality, and the content storage database truncates all content older than 60 days in order to keep the distribution selection fresh… at any given time the content database contains ~17,000 user submitted articles.

Content Kaboom as an article generation shortcode.

BlogSense has never had a reliable article generation shortcode. We’ve tried, but most quality article services have advanced bot protections that required users who wanted to leverage their services to use proxies… and that’s messy.&nbsp; For the most part if we wanted to import articles we’ve had to use the overused WP Robot article shortcode, or BlogSense’s custom source shortcode (which was difficult for some people to use). The Content Kaboom shortcode will become our first stable keyword based article generation tool.

I look at this as a great success for BlogSense users looking to generate content rather than re-syndicate content (BlogSense has many different applications in the realm of automation and we have to look after them all).
