  Old  Weekend Slowtime

Hey all,

My arcade website MgArcade.com is doing great, but on every weekend the traffic is a little lower than what it normally is. Is there anyway I can increase traffic on weekends?

Thanks,

Marky

Chances are those arcade sites are used by people at school, no school at the weekend so you will have less visitors.

Yeah but it's just annoying. MgArcade.com is currently averaging at just over 1000 gameplays a day but on weekends it's plummets sometimes - like today - it plummets as low as only 100 - 200 gameplays.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I could possibly boost traffic on Saturdays and Sundays?

research research and research!
find out who exactly uses your site....
it appears that maybe school people and business people use your site.
playing games while at school, and playing games while at work

sunday is a day of rest for these people and your going to find it very hard to get them to go to this site on their days off, because they will be at home with their 'home' computers.... with games installed on the hd which you might not be able to compete with.

either try to target the website at other users (not sure how to do this, maybe MAC games, i dont know if MAC's still suck for games, or online rpg's etc. muds etc.)

or try and create a community, which is your best bet at dragging these people out of their homes and onto your website. Forums, chats, high scores, with personalised competition, like for example, get a quick user access so you have to have an avatar of your face or something... get some high scores going with trophies on the main site.. people might even compete at this **** just to piss off another user, and try and do better than them. A little bit of rivalry/competition/pain never hurt anyone

just my thoughts

Hello Marky,

What you should do is setup a survey for all the visitors and members of your arcade and ask them that where do they come online to your website from with choices of school, home and etc. Ask them who are they like if they are kids, teens or nearly adults.

This might really help you but if you have decent amount of adults, so you would have to put some games for the adults to play in their private time.

Anyways, It's just my opinion.

Hm, i have no idea but some weekend deals...

The weekend slowdowns buzz me to, i thought people surf more at home than at work. Not true probably.
