  Old  Special color scheme?

This has been bugging me for quite sometime now...

Is there something special about using the colors red, blue, green and yellow in a logo?

Microsoft uses it for windows and msn
Sony uses it on their PlayStation logo
Google
Ebay
there are other big names that I've seen use it but can't remember who they are

That and I also used to see sites that would have something like a 100px by 15px bar split into 4 even sections containing those same 4 colors.
