  Old  Uhm, MySpace

I really don't understand this whole bulletin and friends thing, and how it can supposedly drive so much traffic.

I've a very low opinion of the people on MySpace and have never bothered to use MySpace, perhaps thats part of why I don't get it.

Could someone please explain what bulletins and trains and such are all about? I hate not understanding

Thanks!

Bulletins are messages you can send to your whole friends list.

Trains are scripts for people to add themselves to get more friends.

The reason they make so much traffic is because many users have 1000+ friends.

Ok, soo....

Person gets train builds giant friends list (I assume trains auto add friends or something?)

Person sends a 'bulletin' to friends list with link to some site they want to promote.

Site gets traffic via the 'highly intelligent' people from MySpace...

Hmmm, how can that be effective? I mean, it's little more than spam - and how many people actually click spam links?

You answered your own question:

and how many people actually click spam links?

Site gets traffic via the 'highly intelligent' people from MySpace...
Also, they're so 'highly intelligent' that all you have to do is place an image next to a cpc ad, and they'll click it without thinking.
