I like it but the ad space seems like an afterthought, and heavily unbalances the design. It isn't 800 compatible anyways right now so I don't really get the point in your retorts.
Also, the logo is almost unnoticable (but if that's what they wanted that's fine). I love Awesome's redesign of the header, and it'd be awesome if the site was changed to look like that. 
Overall it's quite a nice design. Good job.

we're told to design for 1024 overall, but the important aspects of the site (main content, user options [search, login, dates, etc], etc) need to remain 800 accessible. we don't care if they don't see the ads, as long as they can use the rest without having to constantly move around.
i don't know why everyone hates on white space.

I love the design, it has the intense hockey feel all over it. Great job on it, but I do agree that some things should be moved around.

There is an issue here... My Canucks are playing calgary right now and hockey.com does not have the score! I geuss I will go to another site.... haha

The code looks really messy, maybe that's how ASPX is? A lot of div soup.
