I can't see this becoming more successful than the iPod. It's 'cool' to have an iPod, and people will always follow a crowd.

It will never be as successful as the iPod. People buy the iPod because it is a fashion item now rather than the specs of it. There are much more affordable and better spec MP3 players on the market, but only a small percentage of people will buy them because most people will buy the iPod because it looks good.
The same thing will most likley happen with the Zune. Some people will buy it, but the majority will stick with the iPod. Which is the better player doesn't have as big a part in the matter as Microsoft thinks.

I may have a look at it when it comes out, as i need a new mp3 player, but it also depends on the price, specs etc as well, i don't follow the crowd.

i don't really like the name, but it is better than Xune. I think that I wont geniuinly hate a name till the major corporations start using 'l33t sp34k'
