  Old  Veteran Programmers On Haitus?

I'm a frequent visitor of this site and have always turned to this site for quick coding help. I used to see a lot of activity from programmers but all of that seems to be chaning. Some of the veteran coders seem to have gone elsewhere and the few that post their services here don't even reply to PMs or emails. I was wondering if this was due to low season for coders looking for work or they are just not interested anymore. What's happening?

Of the experienced programmers I knew here a few fell off the map and one got a "real" job. As for me, I've not put an ad one in a long time because I've not needed do, its been about 12 months since I've had to look for work. Plus most here seem to prefer offshore coders who provide low quality services for a fraction of my price.

I agree a lot of people are turning to oversea programmers for the cheap cost. But I feel only with small projects that are not complex or require a lot of attention. I'm yet to try the overseas method but as long as I'm able to find a programmer in North America who can do exactly what I'm looking for cost won't be an issue.
