Old  Web designer vs Web Developer

Hi Guys! I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this but anyway I would like to ask you If do you think that it's possible to be a good web developer and a good web designer at the same time?
I'm a web developer but lately I found my self interested in web design in learning new tecniques to design a web site..

Many Thanks

sfreitas

As long as you have a passion for both then defiantly. Personally I'm a web designer, because thats what I enjoy.

I am a web designer, but currently learning PHP. Need alot more practice though. All the stuff I can do is basic. Pretty proficient in the design area though.

But, yeah you can be good at both, I know a few people who are. Keep practicing and you will be =]

You can do both, and they do exist. However, they are 2 complete different fields and you would need to be very good at it.

The way I see it is... web designers (in the future) will need to know how to code basic stuff. The term "Experienced Designer" has already been created.

You can definitely be good at both, but in the end you will be forced to choose a path, specially when you start getting projects that require you to seek help to do them. That is when you will realize which one you prefer...

I think web designer and web developer fields are merging from customer's perspective. It's best to know how to bring your your designs to "life".

Web designer and web developer = Architect and Engineer . It is very hard to be both if you gets lots of project. Need to separate the task

For me being a developer or web designing is still in the same field.. There is no rush to getting both, because in the same time you are in the both field you just dont realize it..

Everyone has an idea how to improve their skills in developing but designing i don't think you have to find.. There is nothing to worried about designing or developing .. For me it is the same area for developing a web or designing a web..

This both need some coding to make / Except Design!!
Trust you can, and you will be..
