Yeah the free .tk are sort of like "leasing" the domain. You don't actually own it like you would if you had bought it.

.tk's are a domain for a small island somewhere aren't they? the website www.tk gives them away for free in turn for advertisements as a cloaked/masked domain, but you can get them paid without adverts.

I don't see why anyone would buy one because to me, when I see a site that's a .tk, I think it's quite tacky and unprofessional.. just my two pence .

You can still remove ads without paying. If you login to your account, there is an option to remove ads. Most people do not know that even exists!

I agree that they are not domains worth having and certainly not worth paying for.

Agreed. There really just like .CJB . Most people Judge my site because of the name it's a domain registered to me but it's free with my ISP (Karoo) and the Juleswlf bit is my logon name which im still trying to find out if i can change it on my URL without it messing my internet login name .

.TK are not worth paying for anymore. They pretty much killed the domain extension by giving them out for free. In the beginning I'm sure they made alot of money off it but they killed the revenue now. When someone sees a .tk domain extension, it's hardly regarded to as professional because they were free to get and every clan/wanna-be site used them and killed the domain extension.
