 1% from a first class degree....what a joke!
The title says it all, pretty much a joke imo. It's now haggle time with a few lecturers.

Is this like honors and honors with distinction here in the real world (kidding  )
Last term i was at an average of 79.5% and they didn't round, they stuck me below honours.

I have no clue what he is talking about, but My guess is that he got his grade card in and saw that he was one percent off getting a better degree than he got.
I would get on the telephone and let the yelling begin.

Basically, degrees in England are classified by 3rd, 2:2, 2:1 and 1st.
70% + is a first, i'm 1% away from getting it.
