Does anyone here play online poker? I do. And over at Full Tilt Poker the past two days it seems Murphy's been sitting on my shoulder making sure his law comes true. First I loose $100 last night and now tonight I loose a whopping $400 to a guy I KNEW was bluffing.

It went like this:
I had pocket rockets (Ad,As) and he goes all in pre flop. Everyone else folds but me. What do you know! He has 2h,7s! Woot! Seems like a sure thing for me right? Wrong.

Flop had the other 2 and 7. Great. Just my luck. Then the turn comes and holy shit it's another ace! That horrible feeling just started to lift when BAM! Another 2 comes up and drowns me. I mean really... WHY do my aces NEVER win lately? And trip aces? C'mon now Full Tilt... give me a break .

For those who play you ever had a run of bad luck like this? It's heart breaking really...

Anyway I'll be putting a MacBook Pro up for sale here relatively cheap either tomorrow or the next day. I'm thinking a reserve around $500 - $600 to make back what I lost at least. First a new charger is in order and a camera for taking pictures .

Adios.

If you have to sell your stuff to make up for your poker losses, you probably shouldn't be playing poker, at least at those stakes.

Oh and yeah, that hand does sound pretty gross.

Surely if he hit a 2 and a 7 on the flop to make two pair, then you hit trips, then another 2 on the river comes up, that'd mean you'd both have full houses but you'd have the Ace's, hence you'd win?

Yeah exactly...

Your Hand: A A A 2 2
His Hand: 2 2 2 7 7

Anyway... do you still believe that online poker isn't rigged?

If you gamble eventually you will loose. My policy for gambling is only do it for money you can go without.

If you're going to gamble just go to a casino, its a lot more fun that way. If I was to do it online it would be blackjack so I could run my cards though a stats program.

He'd of still won the hand though with AAA77 vs 22777?

Yes, of course you will lose sometimes... But if you are good at poker you will win more than you lose.

As for running blackjack hands through a stats program, that's really not necessary. If you don't know how to play, you can just go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackjack and there's a chart telling you what to do in each situation.

Don't gamble except when it's somewhere you can't constantly go (ie: Vegas/etc only). Seriously. Otherwise you'll just lose more and more money, at least if it's Vegas or the like when you leave it'll be over.
