Old  Downtime or Something Else - Possibly Local?

When I try to open my sites on a shared hosting server in the last few weeks I noticed they were not accessible - at least an hour daily. Apart from server downtime is there a possibility that something is wrong on my end which forbids me to view the sites?

Have you bothered your host at all? This isn't really something we can help you with because we're not your host. It's best to contact them first.

Yes, try to contact your host to know what is happening. Even if the issue is not on their side, I think they will be happy to help you find and resolve it.

Salathe will become famous soon enough

Send a message via MSN to Salathe

Also set up a few remote monitoring services like pingdom, uptime robot, etc. to see if the problem is your connection or your website's.

I'd second speaking to your host and also setting up monitoring services. That will allow you to find out the exact cause of the problem.

An hour of downtime daily is definitely not the routine server downtime that happens. May be just a bad server or it's going over it's limit (ram) often.

Just check with your host and if you can't solve it i'd suggest you move to another host.

You should communicate with your hosting provider. If this is possible you should choose a new hosting provider
