  Old  Do follow?

I was not aware before that some forums set the links left by their users to no-follow. What is the harm of setting your forum to do-follow besides the spam things?

There is a lot of speculation that having lots of dofollow links will leach the PR from your site and make it go down in rankings. However, that is a myth...if that were truly the case, sites like Wikipedia would lose ranking due to the tons of outbound links they have.

Site without nofollow will probably attract more spammers.

I have mixed feelings about that also. In general, too many outgoing links on your website may affect its rank, but Wikipedia is so popular and its rank is too high to be affected by those outgoing links. Well, it's just my stupid opinion.

I notice that many bloggers have changed their blog setting from do-follow to no-follow. So I think the do-follow list maybe not regularly updated. The blogs might be do-follow when they were listed there.

I am also confused. I also think that many outbound links from your page harms you in ranking. But I can't find any specific result. If you are linking to fake website or any bad website then it is ok. But if you are suggesting good pages by linking them, then what is the problem?

Speculation lost is going due to having lots of do follow links. I am really confused that what will be happened? I think that outbound links from your page harms you are in ranking. There was no result to see. If you are linking to fake website or any bad website so no problem at all. But if you are suggesting good pages by linking them, then what kind of problem is this?????

No follow is used to avoid spammers to your site. It is good to use nofollow attribute.

No follow is given to keep the Spammers away. But this will also minimize the traffic to the site. There should be some alternative methods to keep the spammers aways. Most of the visitors are coming for the SEO purpose. If this purpose is not allowed, then it will decrease the number of visitors to the site.
