Depends what you want your site to be..

If you want it to be constantly updatable, PHP. But just static then html.

You say you've used HTML "abit" before, you will need to know HTML anyway for PHP..

you cant code a template in php, its html tags, or xhtml/css.. then you use php snippets to enhance the site, but the main template side is html or xhtml/css.. So learn html first then go into php alittle more

Thanks

You need HTML/css so that the website can have an architecture. The question is if you want to implement php into the HTML document.

Busee -

What are you trying to do -

For a novice ( I am assuming) just by the question, like someone already mentioned PHP is coded within HTML. It enhances the site and does things that HTML cant. But you cant program a page in just PHP, its a server side language.

Meaning that it cant function unless its uploaded to a server that can handle it. Which is a whole other ball of wax, because depending on who is hosting your site they may not be PHP "able", though it seems more and more that most are. There are a few here and there who arent.

If you need any help PM me. - I was there once, I know it can all be very confusing. Im self taught myself - and have come along way.
