I've been acquainted with Talkfreelance before, but I recently started reading a book that recommended this website so I thought I'd finally sign up. I'm looking to start work as a local freelancer in my area and I'm trying to put the rubber to the road so to speak.
I come from a bit of a unique background. I designed my first website almost ten years ago now as a kid playing games. From there, I learned how to do a wide range of things but never really became an expert at anything beyond HTML even thought I knew/know a variety of things. I've worked in the hosting industry for 5-6 years now oscillating from my own company to working for someone else. Unlike many others, I don't have a degree in CS (or Graphic Design) and do not plan on getting one. I am in school just about to wrap up my English degree from the University of South Carolina.
I'm looking to make friends, do a little networking, and hopefully be able to contribute my own knowledge. I hope to see you around on the forums!
