Old  What language is best for a corporate website?

What coding language is best for a corporate e-commerce web based company? I currently have a CSS/xhtml coder working on my design, however, I am not sure if that is what will best suit my company. Ideas?

XHTML and CSS is fine for any design you want to code. If it is going to need regular upgrading though it's defiantly worth getting a PHP content management system set up so the site can be updated easily. For the actual design itself though, XHTML and CSS is the way to go.

i need to use html/css. if you're asking this question, you don't need any server scripting language.

If you're going for a dynamic website; theres a few different options depending upon how big the website is and your overall budget.

PHP would be your best bet for functionality and price.

I've seen coldfusion implimented very well on eshops as well. However that comes with a bigger price tag.

HTML/CSS is the cosmetic code. It makes the website display basically... If you want your website to 'work;' you need to hire a coder that works with a dynamic language such as PHP.

Definitely, PHP or any other web programing language is required to dynamically function the website.
