It ant finished yet but heres what i have so far what do ya think?

All the text has AA on it. Try removing the AA so it looks more.. realistic?
other than that, it looks great. keep going

that looks A LOT better :]
You could keep the AA on the nav bar though, its just the content that shouldnt be AAed :]

i see the last line on "latest threads" that "Posted by phpdude" is kinda distorted looking...

I'm not sure if that's a very important part of the design.
Overall KewL I'd say that this isn't a terrible start. You have the basic concept down. First off, if you've never skinned a forum before, this one would probably not be a good starter for you. It would be fairly difficult to skin. Secondly, I don't really like the clash of styles ... grunge logo, sleek menubar, and minimalistic forum body. I don't think it all fits together really well.
