Old  What E-commerce solution for a hamper website?

Hi,

I am trying to make a hamper website, which I'm finding quite a unique challenge in that the ecommerce software I use needs to support the fact that I need to offer a choice of hampers (sizes and types of the actual basket), and then a catalogue of products to fill the hamper with.

So therefore, I almost need to sell two products, the basket and then a selection of items to fill it.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to start? I've looked into the likes of Magento, OS Commerce etc but they seem like a lot of work could be involved to get them operating how I wish.

Any pointers would be hugely appreciated and thanks in advance for your help.

Best wishes,

Jono

If your needs are unique it will come down to either time or money. If you are aware of any other sites that operate in the same way (even if not in your industry) you should see what they do. If nothing like it exists someone will have to create it. The ones you've tried are the biggest out there so if no addon or modification is available you'll probably need to hire someone to get it working.

Hi,

I am asking this from the Web Developers perspective so I am fully aware of the task at hand if I do infact have to modify a pre-packaged solution myself.

I'm just wondering if by experience any members of this forum have an idea of a better system pre-packaged, that allows you to have a number of products in one "product".

spending the time to configure a good magento or OS commerce will be worth it in the long run instead of going for a quick fix soution
