Please come and say all the bad facts about my design

Please come and tell me about all the abd things i did in this design. Critics are welcome

The background is way to overpowering. Make it more faded. Love the little no more waiting character.

The background has the potential of creating headaches, fading it down would make it much better. Try fading it down until you can barely see the stripes and then turn it up just a notch or two.

The menu looks a bit strange to me. There is too much space around the text and not enough room inside the words. Try reducing the margins and raising the tracking (letter spacing). I'm not a big fan of the typeface either, maybe if it was smaller it would look better.

The body text needs more leading (line height) and the heading should align with the text.

Apart from those issues I think it's a good simple design that is easy to navigate and doesn't distract from the content.

Instead of the layout, the background gets my attention - it stands out too much. The design could be improved as well (i.e. the gloss is too strong, the blue text doesn't fit to the design, etc.). Keep on it.

What I like:
-Slick header
-the icons on the right

What I would change:
-subdue the background, or change it completely (right now they remind me of an army of bacteria :/)
-the type on the navigation bar looks rather tacky
-your font selection is all over the place. Try to limit yourself to having 3 fonts at max

Overall:
Your layout needs too have more harmony (colours, fonts, spacing etc)
I'll give it a 7/10

There are some point i would change:

-The Background is Too Enoiing to me.
-The Nav. Has a To Big font. And maybe use Verdana or something.
-At the right part you used a bad font. You should use a cleaner font there too.
-Add more detailes to it.

(I just mention everything to help you, so don't get it like i totally hate it )

Like everyone has said, the background is the main problem. It's too much to deal with 3'oclock in the morning when you're reading 'DevBody' :P

You use far to many effects on the text, remember that text is quite important. (i'm mainly talking about the right column) The fonts are poorly matched with each other and lets the design down.

The Top navigation is a bit too much in-your-face, make it a bit thinner and less blocky, also the font in there is a bit fuzzy, and be better as a simple font without serifs.

ok, so what about the Good things?

The big bold icons on the side are great. They are colourful and dynamic. But again the complex font lets them down, you need s bold font to go with it. and more colour.

And the contrast in colours is really nice, white and black are always good together and black goes will with lime greens, and white goes well with any bright colour, so you're getting 3 colours that like to interact with eachother. Brilliant!
