Old  approaching as a company or freelance?

Hi there,

I am wanting to contact some companies offering my services. I have tried contacting some describing myself as a 'company' but have not had much response.

Would it be more effective to approach them describing myself as a freelance?

Many thanks!

Approach them as you are, if you are a "company" then be a "company", if you are a freelancer, then be a freelancer. Don't make yourself into something you are not, it can cause loads of problems further down the line.

Present a united front. If you are going as a company, you need to seem professional. Present some branded work, have a good name, have some history behind it.

Would you approach someone as a doctor if you weren't? Giving yourself a false presentation allows for you to come short; instead of being truthful and being able to be the best at what you actually are. You can't be a big business if your not a big business.

Also don't refer to yourself as a company if your not really a company (having a registered business). If it's just a bunch of friends that have gotten together to form a small team then clients should recognize you as a group.
