Any Pilots?
Flying has become a huge pita over the list couple of years thanks to useless and redundant 'safety' measures. So I've decided to get my pilots license, and I start classes on the 6th (my wife is making it my bd present - yay!).
Anyhow, I was wondering if there are any pilots or pilots in training on the boards? Thinking is might be fun to knock up a flight forum...
Anyone here fly?

When I was younger, I was really close to start learning how to fly (there was a students class for people in middle school). Wish I had done it, but it would have cost a lot (probably worth it though, would be awesome to fly).

From what I've heard and seen, landing can be difficult, but under ideal conditions can be rather easy if you know all the settings and controls. I wouldn't be surprised if instructors let students land the plane the first time in the air (of course after all the classes, etc.), with some instruction.

lol. sure, if you've got one of those 500k sim rigs... maybe you can borrow Vizions. :P
I took a few lessons when I was like 12, wanted to get my license as soon as I turned 16, but alas it was not to be! lol
It should be a breeze, im really stoked to give it another go, though as soon as I get my license I'll need to get my instrument rating, that's gonna blow... I have a hard time with things I can't see.

I fly the choppers in GTAIV quite skillfully, if I say so myself.
Nothing like that in real life though Anyways, go for it, sounds awesome... (>.>)

Are you going to get pilot license for engine aircrafts or ultra lights? I think that ultra light gliders are better for beginning - it doesn't cost that much, even the glider itself doesn't cost fortune. And it's always awesome experience to fly without engines, just floating in the air.
