I've been through many sales on SP myself, and have been scammed once or twice too. When I said binding, I didn't mean legally at all, as I know SitePoint isn't one of those sites that function like eBay.
Plus, what kind of advantage does Escrow offer? Do you think that's the best way?

Why dont you just get him to paypal the money in then withdraw it, whats the fuss?

I don't understand what's stopping him from paying you? Didn't you/he have a payment method in mind?

I've tried that before, when the person does a chargeback, PayPal stop the withdrawal, and freeze the cash.

Best way would be to use Escrow, and share the fees. That ways no party will be scammed by the other as it protects both the buyer and the seller.
