Old  [NEW!] Tips for your generous giveaway.

I've personally been seeing this done for threads on end, and its become quite a large nuisance with me. So, naturally, here's a quick tip for your generous giveaways.

Don't giveaway your [product] on a first come, first serve basis.
There are many people lurking around the forum that have joined last week or last month or so, who haven't contributed to the community at all other than an introduction and few posts in the general discussion area who are hiding in the Giveaways forum waiting for something to claim.

Giving something away is great, but also think that someone may actually need the item you're giving away - rather than "oh well uh, its free ... i'll take it", which is the case in about 90% + threads (look for yourself).

Just recently I saw a user who didn't even know what the product being given away was, but took it anyway since it was of no charge.

I mean yes, that is free product for business, but at least have some quick guideline or system for what you're giving away.

Kind thanks for your time, from rasberry.

What I'm saying is, at least create some sort of "Must have one resourceful thread." or ... "Must have x quality posts." or ... "Must be registered for 3 months or more." or ... "Must have use for item / service being given away (have a layout ready for a coding job, etc)."

Few examples.

I think this would mean you should use some discretion as to who you give it away to. Don't give it away to the first person, consider who might contribute and use your item/services best etc and maybe give it to them. Maybe have a few conditions on your giveaway?

Ya basically stating that Limit to those you give Away to..

Such as..

Person could not have gotten something from you within past month..
as such conditions which would make people want to get free giveaways but have to be Members longer to revieve the Privilege

maybe you should make it so only people with a certain amount of posts can view this section?

"Please post a reply with around 100 words stating why you should be the person to receive this amazing free gift!"

Sounds like great advice to me!
