I'd use the ScrollTo plugin for jQuery to do something like this.

horizantal and vertical would be diagonal.

You could do two marquees ..that way it requires no javascript. One you would do vertical, and then insert into another marquee that slides horizantal.

Using the marquee tag is like you should make everything a big gif and animate it.

Oh yeah those <marquee>'s. I remember them from back in the day.

Wasn't sure how he meant using them instead of above method.
