i bought the x850xt. Mainly because of the specifications and the 6800gs would only have been worthwhile if i used it in SLI. Also x850xt has 16 pipelines and a better cpu clock speed.

X850 XT.

Put it this way, the 6800GS is a lesser card to the 6800GT (though only just), whilst the X850XT is equal to the 6800 Ultra. No SM3, but that's a bit overrated tbpfh.

Edit: too late, good choice though.

Good choice, I would have gone for the x850 too.

Yeah 6800 is only good if you can unlock the extra pixel pipelines and vertex shaders.
