Lack of Writers?
Lack of writers, or lack of interest in writing?
It is becoming more and more relevant in todays world of online busines and website creation, to have a very well written content base for your domain. Without good content, where is the hook factor to attract new customers and new visitors?
This is a discussion base which (as a writer) I hope will take off quite a bit:
"Lack of Writers, or Lack of Interest in Writing?"
What do you think personally?

I think its really that people dont want to pay someone to write whats in the website owner / end users head, no one can say it better than him/her as they of course know what there talking about.
I also think its a lack of understanding on what they do and not many people offering this as a service clearly enough.

This is definitely lacking in the Freelance world. It may not be as important to most people to have an edge-cutting lap of text on their screen. Eventhough a good content base will seperate you from any other website professionally, most people probably don't find the effort in finding a good content writer or the money they will spend on it worth it. As long as the visitor understands what you're getting at, right?
Lack of Writers, basically because people can do it themselves. Perhaps not professionally, but quite understandable.

That is true, but what would you say if I said that I worked like this:
• Client gives me text to help me understand a concept or a service
• I manipulate and manage the text in order to persuade, inform or to sell
This is how it would work if I was to be doing this for a client as I have done in the past. I'm curious to think of how you envisioned this service to actually work.

also writers are good at seeing a visitors point of view, if the owner is talking giberish nonestop the content wont appeal to everyone, i guess good content writers are here to get the client/visitors keep coming back

Yes my sentiments exactly Trev. I also believe that it's important to keep content on a website fresh and rotated every now and then, to keep the visitors interested in what you have to show or offer.
I also agree with every point Aros made, Lack Of Writers indeed, not many people are able to admit that they can write well enough to sell their services, also I feel that not many writers or able linguists know how to handle themselves in this sort of situation.

I find that often times many people (not just freelance web developers) simply don't practice proper grammar and punctuation enough to know how to write content that communicates their message effectively.
Personally I often demonstrate refined mastery of the English language as you can probably already see lol.

I try to get my point across but punctuation is normally the problem. Spelling for me is ok but when I rush I sometimes screw up. Yes, I know "I's" are capital. There's no point in fixing it lol.
^How it should've read lol j/k

I think it wasn't long ago I was talking to somebody thinking about opening up a writing website. I actually own the domain name KindredWriter of which a community for writers once existed. It's a shame it never got anywhere in the past
