Have you tried spyware/malware removal tools? Google a program called spybot search and destory, run that and then see what happens

A few months ago.
My Windows XP software that was paid for was not 'registered' so I had to reformat and install again.

I don't format--however I do upgrade my computer about every 2-4 months--so I do move everything and install to a new OS alot. Sometimes I'll just ghost though.

Only when needed. I can do it in 7 minutes. A fresh formatted install of winXP or win2000.
In my install I already have drivers and all the main software programs installed.
I do it with Nortons Ghost. Otherwise an install takes around 4 hours putting all the drivers and software back on.
