  Old  PayPal Disbute?

Anyone have this happen before?

I have someone who wants his money back because he thought be bought a peice of software.

I do not mind refunding half of the money, but I have no way if this is just a way to get the script and his money back.

Any suggestions?

hes probably lying if he thought it would be comp software, his negligence of what it was so long as you didnt misrepresent what the product is and what it does doesnt justify a refund. he simply doesnt want to pay fot the script.

buying 101, you cant return a product for what it is

If I were you, I wouldn't refund him. There are several things on the site that indicate it's a PHP script. For example:

> This powerful script does NOT require PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, or any other programming knowledge to install and use.

>Only need to upload one file to your web server.

If those were what went on in the thread, then I wouldnt refund him either, even if he misunderstood it, it would be his fault for not understanding.. and if you didnt have any guarntee on it or money back agreement, your not abided to..

No refund. This needs to be stated in your TOS. If it isn't, you need to update it immediately.

All you need to type in the refund box or your comment is, "Virtual item" and you will win the dispute. Chargebacks are ONLY for physical goods and items.

Exactly, when he started the dispute he must have lied and said it was not a virtual item. As the dispute would never have been opened.

I will have to remember that for next time. Instead of getting negetive feedback, I decieded to go against my better judgement and give back a 50% refund.

Live and Learn, that is all I can say.

I once had a guy who opened a dispute against me.
He won an auction on ebay where I sold a PS2 and various other things, it was in fully working order. He did it just to try and get his money back.
I won

If it ever happens again, just be professional and polite when replying to paypal and you have a better chance of winning

I've done a vitural goods chargeback, it was for a myspace turnkey that was not delivered to me. Dunno why it was awarded in my favor, maybe the guy finally figured he'd let me win.
