  Old  banner rotation software?

how do banners work?
where do i get the random adverts like yaxay does?
what are the best ways of getting them on my site?
and what are the genreal charges involved? like price per click or whatever

ya ive always wondered where people get there adverts from, do they just go up to the site and say heres my banner and i'll pay you. im guessing u would take money up front for this if it was a time period and per clicks would be at the end of each month

Yeah that's how many sites actually do it - they set-up a paypal or 2Co subscription, or take a lump sum for a certain billing period (every 6 months).

Many of the larger sites do it on an exposure basis, for example every time their banner is shown 1000 times they charge a standard fee (a CPM fee).

From what I understand there are software packages out there to manage both the billing side of things, the rotation side of things and also the client side of things (i.e. showing them what they have left, what they have used, etc)

Yeh, basically......its done on impressions (views), i have banners on multiple sites...and i pay the owners a set fee to get my banner x amount of impressions.

The software used can calculate all this...it gives you statistics, click thru ratios and more.

I recommend phpadsnew for this type of setup.
