England Scrape Victory

Was very poorly played. Some good individual performances from Gerrand and Young. I think Beckham should not have being sent off. No way! But the most important thing is that we won, and we may even qualify tonight if Holland win.

What was your view on the match?

It wasn't as comfortable as it should of been but i dont think anyone really expected it to be. It was harsh on Beckham who has now become, statisticly, Englands dirtiest ever player.

At the end of the day the win was what we needed and we got it, now to concentrate on beating Poland should other results not go our way.

I think playing crouch was a bad idea. i personally dont think he's an amazing player, not good enough to play for england anyway. I would go for defoe over crouch every time

Crouch is rubbish, agree completly. I hate when people say "he's got a good touch for a tall player" - what complete bull that is. If he was 5'10" everyone would be talking about how bad he is.

Defoe is too similiar to Owen though which is why i think Sven doesn't like to play the two together. Personally i would of given Bent a chance, he deserves it based on his curent preformances. Thankfully though we will have Rooney back for the Poland game

Also Holland are beating Czech 2-0 so it looks like England are through

The game was rubbish, i was alot more enertained by the Wales V Northen Ireland match.The tactics along with the subs were baffling at the best of times. We used 3 subs and 2 of them were on Central defenders?? What was the point?

Crouch starting was stupid, there defenders where huge so there was no point playing aerial. We should have started with Bent up front.
