  Old  .eu domains.

They have been released now and are been rapidly snapped up- but only by other extentions i.e. .com .net .org .co.uk etc.. are allowed to get them at the moment. Then after that they will go on general release. But my question is will they have a good value that other extentions and wil .com be the primarily the main domain.

.com will remain the most preferred extension. You can't really compare .eu with .com as .eu is good and will mostly be used by people of European Union while .com is a prefered extension which is used all by sites all over the world.

Yeah. ICANN could create any number of extensions they wanted but none of them would ever be better than .com. Mainly because it's the original, when you think of the internet you think of .com. It's everywhere. If you forget a URL's extension you will try .com first. No other extension is associated with "www." and the internet more than .com is.

.eu could be quite popular in europe, .com will always remain the best extension regardless. When is the public release of .eu? (To people who would like to buy any extension).

Hi,

I think .eu domain names will grow in popularity. After all, it's a big potential market.

Regards,

Jaime

I have a domain I plan on buying in .eu the day anyone can buy them. I've been watching it for a while.

I think they should have a .inc domain.

Controllerboysays.cu would be so great xD

well, myself, i think eu extensions won't be popular at all. i think the market has no need for new extensions, as every country hgot one, and almost everyone aiming worldwide uses .com, .net, .org or .info anyway. even i, as an european citizen don't even think about buying a .eu domain. .net and .com,a nd maybe .org are the only extensions which are worth buying if you want to have a worldwide public, in my opinion. and someone who has an european public could even good buy a .com, not a .eu .
