  Old  Hiring a Freelancer !

My partner and I have a design studio that we work on the side . We are looking to get a freelance person to do some work. My question is Is there a contract that we need for him to sign ? Anyone have samples that I can look at ? We haven't met him yet . We will probably set something up at the end of the week . My other question is , What does everyone pay a freelancer . Our business is not big at all. We do this on the side ...Love to get lots a feedback. Thanks in advance!

most freelancers ask for a deposit (50%??) up front of any work they are comissioned to do. There is a thread here for a contract that you may want to check out

In short the first hurdle is to make sure you have 50% of the total project budget available for when the guy starts work

hope this helps

regards

mark

here is the thread for the contract

This contract is more for a client that wants work done. We do freelance on the side , but we need more help . So, we are thinking of hiring a freelancer. We need a contract that states he won't steal our clients and that he works on timely schedule. 50% deposit on a job??? What can we offer him for pay ????

That contract would cover your hired help. You would have to add some confidentiality clauses and strict timelines.
