What to do when someone steals your idea?
Earlier today I was notified by a friend that "webdesigntalk" a banned user from this forum and many others registered a domain i'd been planning to open shortly. The brand I was building up was webhost, webmaster and webdesignactive.com.
Unfortunatly somehow I forgot to register it, because both are sites were designed by Microvisuals they were in the same folder online for viewing, this is where stephen saw my name/idea and decided to steal it.
I'm appauled at the level of business ethics and down right level of maturity. Why would someone do this? What can you do with people like this, honestly?

I guess he was just being childish because you banned him from this forum so he wanted his revenge.
What to do with him? I guess there is not much you can do short of finding where he lives and ti kwon do his ass. He did register it "fair and square".
You could always ask nicely to see if he had the least bit of decency in him but that would probably just turn into a trade of insults and more childish behavior.

It is a pain in the arse when some one stills your idea. I guess the only way to stop this is just not let any one know, that way if any one comes up with the same idea it is a coincidence.
You may actually be able to e-mail the domain registries and notify them that you had the intention of registering those domain names. If he is squating on it and not doing any thing with them you MAY be able to get the domain names.
I know last year I was thinking of registering a domain name for a business I was thinking of building with a friend. We weren't 100% sure when we were going to start the idea so I held off on registering the domain name that we had decided on and spend a while figuring out. In this case it was just a coincidence when I went to check if it was still there some one beat us to it and we had not told any one! Any way we never did that business so its no big deal now.
I will have a think about this and see if I can come up with any catchy names.

I dont see that possible to get a domain when they registered it fair and square.

Well I think I spelled it right. Im a black belt in the GHETTO!
Na just kidding, Canada doesn't have any ghettos. The closest thing we got to a ghetto is a few asians standing out side the local YMCA.
