I love Photoshop but the homogenization of all these packages will reduce the amount of competition. Competition is good for the consumer.

Still, I can't say I would mind seeing Photoshop eat up Fireworks and adopt some of the features that make it a good web design tool.

Yeah, read about that merging. Someone told something funny about this, Ilustrator + Freehand = Frustrator

I think this is actually good, & I hope that with this merging there will be even better products than now (even I don't like Macromedia for it's MX 2004 products).
