  Old  "Aussie" Film Ideas?

Well, here's the final product. The color grading is screwed, I know, but I had
to hand it in as is! Oh well... thoughts?

I am after some exciting, fresh ideas for a film I have to do for my Film and TV class. It has to either conform to stereotypical Australian representations of go against it.

Any help would be appreciated. Something funny would be cool. Just a brief synopsis would be awesome It's about 4 minutes in length.

Thanks

I am not sure whether you are asking for the characters to be Stereotypically Australian or not.

If so, just have them going on a road trip, BBQing at every chance whilst wearing different full-khaki outfits. Have the accents be jokingly strong (think Steve Irwin times 2.) The expression "Shrimp on the Barbie" should be used wherever applicable.

Have the actors boast about having a BBQ when really it's just an outside oven. The food tastes nothing like BBQ'd food. Then have a kangaroo skip by in the foreground. Now that is authentic Austrailian.

Use as much jargon like "shrimp on the barbie", "the bush", etc. as much as possible, strong accents, kangaroos, the desert, full khaki, wear big hats like the Crocodile Dundee, etc.

The reason is that for the particular assignment that I am doing it needs to be either a challenging or conforming representation of Australians.

I don't know, I think I might challenge it. It doesn't have to be obvious ocker, rather it can just portray Australians as beach goers, life guards, stupid etc. Alternatively it can portray them as gay, rich, business people etc.

I am just after a suitable storyline.

I think I might do homelessness. Something along the lines of a girl get's kicked out of home, then finds herself in the scummy parts of Brisbane. She shows disregard for a homeless fella, kicks him etc till she get's his attention. Then asks for where a phone is and storms off. The homeless fella calls her back and gives her her purse that she left. She snatches it and keeps walking.

Any other ideas?

I think that's been overdone to the point where it's internationally accepted that New Zealanders just can't keep their wang out of sheep...

I have an ending. He is going to get pinged for not having his shirt in (caught on our schools security cameras). It became untucked because he hooked it on a rose bush. Then in detention he will say (voice over) "My mum says theres this thing called Karma. What goes around comes around..." He looks out the window and Torissi is walking across the road and get's hit by a car.

It should be pretty good... though, I got nocked back on using the teachers name or slight variations of it so it won't have "as much" comic relief at school anymore.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't even include the intro. Not too worry. Basically a kid tries ever so hard to stay out of detention then comes the ending.

Lol Scott, how about a loud mouthed ocker rocks up to his mates in an HQ Holden Ute, there's a few prawns on the barbie and some fosters in an esky. But to his surprise all his mates are out the back having competitions shagging sheep.
