  Old  Java Applet

What programs can I get to make a Java applet? Are there any free programs where I can make a Java applet? Will I have the same results doing an applet on a free version compare to a paid version?

Yes. But first we must write code in notepad or notepad++ and then by using MSDOS we must call the java compiler to compile the program. If this is a pain you can simply use "eclipse" which is another program for Java programs. It free. You can download it from sun.java.com and its simple to use. Try it. I am also using it.

You should try Netbeans, imho definitely the best Java IDE. Has more features than eclipse, like a visual Swing editor and others..

Both Net beans and Eclipse are good IDE's, its really up to your preferences as to what IDE you use. Eclipse however does offer a java visual editor like net beans, its called Visual Editor Project. Here is a link to check it out: http://www.eclipse.org/vep/ . I believe it uses java beans if I am not mistaken.
