  Old  Marketing a video site

I've noticed the video site craze going on lately, and jumped into it myself a couple weeks back. I noticed that people were getting a lot of traffic - mostly from spamming sites such as Veoh with their sites URL. Apparently, this was very effective, and brought in quite a lot of traffic for those webmasters.

Now, Veoh is being very tight on spammers, and has spam deleted daily, from all videos, and have introduced a new CAPTCHA system into commenting on videos. So, with that in place, what do you think is the best way to market a video site (such as an anime video site)?

I'm also interested in the SEO side of things, so good ways to get decent backlinks to increase search engine visibility.

Thanks.

i think there are two paths to choose from.
the easy path (short term) spamming sites like veoh or other popular social like sites or rich media content sites.
the harder path (long term) is find like minded sites with similar content and trade links, work together to come up with small but effective gorilla marketing.

i guess it just depends on what your goal is.

From what I've tried, if you can't get your friends to like the video - you fail. Find lower viewed videos, become friends with the producer, and then persuade them to visit your site or do something else.
