Old  Can anyone make sence out of this?

Ok so my site I sold a little bit ago jumped to a pr6 from 0. http://tutorialcraze.com . Now listen to this:

My friends site http://adfect.net is the same type of site (photoshop tutorials). We both run the same script, we both submit out tutorials to the same places, the only difference is his site is a whole lot more then mine. probably 20x more traffic. His is a pr4.

I never used any seo tactics or even updated the site it just sat there with a few tutorials. Any idea?

Pagerank is determined by backlinks, not traffic.
You probably just got lucky, and had your tutorials linked to elsewhere, more than his did.

These days, pagerank means absolutely nothing. Don't bother thinking about it.

Agreed. You should only take the page rank with a pinch of salt. It gives you a very distorted story of what's going on with your website. Pay a lot more attention to the more specific details, such as what keywords and key phrases people are using from the SERPs. I think the biggest success you can have with a site is when you're absolutely happy with it, it's making you the money you intended it to do, and it's helping you fulfill your personal goals.

Organic targeted traffic bringing you revenue is what's important, however, PR6 is good for selling links to other sites.

I agree to you Wildhoney! What is the use of PR if you don't have a sales.

But you can sell links to related sites from the pages with high PR, and the higher PR, the more you get.
