Old  How to market a blog

I'm currently making an informative blog, and I want to know how to make it popular. About how many quality posts should it have before I open it and about how many should I make daily?

Any other tips would be useful too, I'm new to this.

Well I don't think you need to make a large number of quality posts all day, just one large quality post every few days (3 or 4). I would say wait until you have between 5 and 8 quality posts before opening it, as well as try to get some comments and affiliates.

There are a few things you can use to market your blog and get it out there.

My #1 suggest is always getting link exchanges. One great place to get your link out there for free is ReceiveLinks.

You also should ping major services with all of your updates. Two great services that you can do this with are:
Pingoat
Pingomatic

All of those will help get your site out there

With blogs all you really need to do is have quality content. If your content is good enough the visitors will come naturally.

I agree with Jon. Spend less time worrying about how to get visitors and more time on writing quality content. Once you get quality content, the visitors part will be taken care of automatically.

They are pointing to the sites through my redirection service? What's wrong with that?

My suggestion: Find blogs that are similar to yours and discuss similar topics. Post on their entries' comment section. Don't drop links. Just drop SOLID KNOWLEDGE. Soon enough you'll get quality blogrollers as well as some nice one way links from people that are attracted by your quality content.

Tip: Don't drop links or article snippets from your blog on other blogs' comments area. This is too spammy. Instead, just participate and soon enough people will be curious about you. No worries about the "No Follow" tag. The real task is to link bait using CREDIBILITY and QUALITY.

Advertising a blog? Well, it's a difficult thing. Perhaps you should try a weekly press release with the best article on the blog?

I'd suggest two things: 1. Quality writing. Write some quality articles and, as said before, viewers will come. 2. SEO. Your posts should follow some SEO rules. Read some more on SEO.
