Nice work, i'd suggest using Mario, Link, Donkey Kong and Luigi. I really like the smooth banner.

I'm looking forward to this site opening

Top quality renders you have there, look nice, and well constructed, it is a big on the big side, so maybe make hte whole thing smaller. The font on the nav looks like it could be worked on a bit looks like an oversized pixel font? the "nintendo forums" text looks hot though. Good job. and nice to see you catering for ad space, looking forward to teh final version.

I really agree, that'll take a hell of a long time to load, not to mention you would not be able to see hardly any of the content. Otherwise very nice.

Rosem: Where'd you get those renders from? They are amazing.

its cool but yea header is a bit big so far. its not really the header itself its the banner ad. what i'd do is either make the renders a bit smaller and then move the banner into the header block.

Personally, I like the header. There use to be an zelda related site that used vector drawings and flash(purple and gold alot, forgot the url, if anyone knows, let me know. :P ) --Which I always thought added a nice unique touch. Seems the same with this one in my opinion.

UPDATE
-------------------

http://www.rosem.com/work/nintendoForums/v1.html - Start
The origional skin I posted here yesterday, for a visual reference.

http://www.rosem.com/work/nintendoForums/v2.html - Middle
I shrunk down the header, and added a top navigation that the client asked for. I decided I didn't like it small. It lost a lot of character and friendliness, and I ran out of room for putting some kick ass drop downs on the nav.

http://www.rosem.com/work/nintendoForums/ - Getting There...
So I ended up here, and I like it so far - I still need to add alot of detail here and there though. But I rearranged some characters and also added the kick ass drop downs I mentioned earlier - among a few other small details (like toads hand going over the nav now like he's resting on it ). For the people that said the header is too big - well it's only 350px and now holds 2 navigations (1 with a drop down) and thats also including the banner ad at the top of the page. I still have about 250px~ to work with to get a login/register box in there, and a good bit of content to get people to scroll down the page.

Anyway, let me know what you think of the progress...

Thanks,
Mike
