I really want this to look great....

I have a friend who asked me to build a blog for her to talk about her hobbies in sewing and cooking and such.

Sorry to those of you with anything less than IE7, I'm working on the png problem. If anybody has any tips on PNGs, let me know.

the second looks worlds better. search google for PNG IE fix. it's a little java that allows you to view it correctly.

No the png fix is a javascript hack.

As for the design, I would keep to a light colour scheme and just add some graphical elements like the second, because at the moment I sort of perfer the current one

It looks really nice so far. I would add a little bit of a rollover to the top links, but otherwise it looks great.
