I thought about this over a year ago when the prices started rising here in New Zealand. I told people the only way to really affect companies was to boycott a company for a month each...Caltex one month, BP the next, Shell after that etc...If they don't reduce prices then start the boycott again and increase it to two months.

I push bike 22km to work each day, so I don't really care how high the prices go, but I may have to take out a bank loan to go on a holiday and pay for the gas

Would work "IF" everyone would do it.. but i dont think it will Which sucks because i hate paying so much for gas....

I work 3 hours a week just for gas... thats 3 hours of pay that i can buy anything cool with LOL

PS, Exxon and Mobile are one company. Exxon bought mobile so i think you should add another company to the list.

Yup and we are taxed about 3 times more (i think its 3) to get it into the country than anywhere else in Europe.

Anyway if it did work small companies will up their rates to milk it.

Even if it did work and Exxon lowered their price by 5 cents, then everyone would go back to Exxon and buy their gas again. Then say the other guy followed suit and lowered his gas by 5 cents...

Well your entire spam campaign lowered gas by 5 cents. That's in the outside chance that it did work. You would have to keep doing this back and forth to get gas to drop by any meaningful amount.

Exxon isn't going to lower gas by a buck. We will just have to learn not to be so reliant on gas... which is going to take a major invention. I personally don't use much gas, since I live 5 miles from my job and don't drive around town wasting it like I did when I was a teenager, but I still drive back to my hometown a lot (2 hours drive) and I take the occasional 5 hour road trip and even sometimes the 24 hour road trip to Florida or something. We are just too dependant on gas. They've got us by the balls.

Maybe we could hire some terrorists to sabotage the companies, but as shown by recent global events, that doesn't accomplish anything, just makes things worse.

Lol, you're not martin luther king you know. Some posts on some forums and a few mails won't keep anybody from buying gas from exxon and mobile.

www.waronoil.com ;plug; lol

Anyway, it's a good idea in general but i think in order to make any kind of impact it'll have to be several companies that do so, that purchase an above average ammount of petrolium products.

The thing about cars that run on water, they dont have that beautiful engine sound. I Love cars, and prefer gas.
