Here is the current status system:

0-24 = I'm new around here
25-99 = Junior Member
100-499 = Member
500-749 = I love this place
750-999 = Senior Member

Q: I can't post in the Offers and Requests forums
A: You need to be a member for at least 4 days to start a thread in the Marketplace forums.

Q: I have been a member exactly for 4 days but still can't post in the Marketplace
You need to wait 1 hour for the server to update.

Q: Why can't I add a signature?
Again this is a privilege which requires you to be a member for at least 4 days before using.

Q: Why do my arm-pits smell?
That's really not one for this FAQ... Perhaps you should consider deodorant!

Thanks to Techno for typing most of this up

Q: Why are some members On Vacation?
It means that member has been put on a temporary or permanent vacation due to not following the Talkfreelance rules and guidelines (same as a ban, but it's a nicer name, don't you agree?)

  Old  Thread placement

Could you all have a think about where you are posting new threads. Please try to consider what would be the most appropriate forum for your topics.

I have just moved dozens of threads from the general discussion forum that quite obviously belonged in specialist forums. Think before you post please. Every day the staff are finding threads all over the forums posted incorrectly.

Simple concept here people, if you are asking about Photoshop help then post here:
  • Graphic Design & Multimedia
  • Looking for help in photoshop or flash? Share your tips with other users.
If you are asking for help on php, coding issues try either:
  • HTML/CSS Coding: HTML/CSS forum covering discussions such as writing W3C Compliant code.
or:
  • Programming & Databases: PHP & MySQL, Perl, ASP, Java, C++ & Database discussion.
  • Development Software (wordpress, cms coding etc)
If you need advice on Software post here:
  • Development Software: Discussion on tools geared to making management of your web site easier.
If you have a great link to an awesome tool or article etc, post here:
  • Web Design Resources: This forum is for any resources relating to Web Site Design.
If you want comment on any of your work, post here:
  • The Gallery Showcase: Post your latest creations in here for review by the community.
Please make mine and the other staff members jobs easier by thinking before you post.

Regards,

Julian
