Old  Interfacing Finger print recognition machine with PHP web application

Hello,

I have an application to be prepared as my college final year project. I want develop an attendance management system for the college in which the finger print recognition device will be used to logging into the student's account. The finger print can be used to record the attendance info. I wanna finger print recognition system to read the finger print and if possible GENERATE A CODE that'll be unique for different fingerprints. The code will be stored in MySQL databases and can be accessed using the PHP code. Reading finger print could be of any language that supports storage of values in MySQL DBs.

ANY IDEAS! ANY TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN SOLVE THIS ISSUE??

Thanks in advance!

Finger print scaning and matching would be vendor specific. Vendor is going to provide you with the required APIs or interface to interact with the hardware.
PHP can then be integrated with those APIs or interfaces.
