  Old  .info Domains?

Curious, how do they fair when it comes to the sale and resell.(Ie: On established sites and such?)

And do they have any downfall when it comes to SEO?

.info is not as popular as compared to say a .com or a .net. If I am not wrong until last year .info registration was free. There are a few registrars now where .info is available for as low as $3. So not much in there for sale or resale of .info names. The domain name extension doesn't matter in SEO or search engine rankings.

I am pretty sure the extension does play a role in the seo game.

Just like subdomains etc, info will be an added keyword.

Don't hang me up on this though

It would probably be worth less than if you had a strong .com name compared to a .info, but as you say traffic is traffic and it will still be worth something.

It really depends on the name. If its something that information can be provided about then it can be a good value. I saw html.info sell on Namepros for $4500. Of course the .com would have been MUCH more.

www.reddfoxx.info is a site i started, and with no promo yet (just links in my sig's on various sites) ive pulled in 200 uniques in about a week, and with www.top5hosts.info its the same thing. I like them, and dont really see a problem with them. they will be worth a lot less as standalone names only (no designs or anything) but Im in the process of selling my www.top5hosts.info site with design and content for 100 dollars. so, however you push it, is what youll get out of it.

Infos sell very good as turnkey sites (that's all I've really seen, anyway)

If it's a good site that does good business then the domain name doesn't matter much when it comes to value. (unless it's a fantastic name that would add more worth in its own right).

Skype sold recently for a huge sum but the name certainly had nothing to do with the value.

You couldn't buy google.com for love nor money but if it didn't have a solid business/product behind it the domain name wouldn't even be worth reg. fee.
