Old  FeedBack on my portfolio site please?

Hey guys names Ryan Holden and I'm TRYING to work as a freelance web designer / developer but would like to get some feedback from some people that are doing it themselves.

My portfolio: ryanholden.net

What's good? what's bad? and what's ugly?

I would appreciate any feedback!

I'd add a favicon.

I really like how you implemented a 1 page site, but when js is disabled they can view all pages of the site.

I think the font is odd and seems like it fades out in some areas.

You don't have IE6 support.

The www and non-www sites are not linking to the same thing. (viewed as duplicate content)

I'm not a huge validation simply because I believe if it works it works, but I know almost all my clients are, so you should probably validate if your going to be offering HTML services to people who know a bit about what they are talking about.

Hi Ryan. It's a good start. My thoughts on what you might want to improve on (design-wise):
• I think the font used is a little too light and thin. I know you want it to look like your business card but maybe you could mix it up with another font. I think the contrast would also be good for the overall design. They're almost all the same size too.
• It's probably just me but I find it a little disconcerting when the navigation disappears. Maybe you could just make it lighter but still visible.
• Some of the text is hard to read when it falls against your background design. Try adding an opaque layer/change font/change color or place the text where it won't fall on the image.

Hope this helps
