Google PageRank "finally" demoted, but remains on toolbar

Hello PageRank people! What are your thoughts on the following news?

If page rank does not have any value, why then Google.com has pr 10. It should have pr0. I think there are some people who are against the concept of pr simply because they have not succeeded in getting pr for their sites. But the fact is that still it have some value.

Playpharma makes an important observation.
The thing is that quality and content should be of primary importance (as one commentor ont he link pointed out).
Page rank is just one of the various metrics to measure that quality and content, and is not, it seems, the most important metric at all...

i think talking about page rank is like talking about live on Mars. What actually is Google?
