2GB, anything more is overkill. I'll be onto DDR3/4/5/6/7 before it starts to make a difference to my work.

4Gb. Not too smart, as I use Windows XP, but memory nowadays is so cheap.

I'm now up to my 3gb I can see the performance increase so far, obviously running multiple applications in unison. I may upgrade to the full 4gb, we'll see how it goes!
