  Old  NEW!! - Designers Portolio's

Hi,

I have set up a forum designed specifically for you to list your own portfolio's. This should really help you gain clients if your a seller, and find the best designers if your are a buyer.

The management of this forum will be very strict and you must follow the guidelines - click here:

I would encourage all designers to get their portfolio's set up ASAP - you are only allowed one post/portfolio in the list and obviously those at the top of the list (ie first posters) will get the most views from potential clients.

All the instructions are to be found here click here.

Enjoy

Ditto. It has been stressed so much in the past that TalkFreelance isn't a design community but we try to encompass as many aspects of freelancing as possible. Maybe the design portfolios are just a test phase to see how well it works out; I can't see Zee and the staff forgetting about the other sectors here, I assume it'll just be a matter of time until we get a wider selection of portfolio areas.

Good to see you're pushing forward with features to benefit the (active trading) community here.

Quite true - but it make sense to keep all the designers portolfio's seperate from say the coders portfolio's.

If you want a coder's portfolio section, then I am fine with that - are there any differences in how the coders portfilio's would be done from the designers portfolio's?

Some how this seems unfair and the posts should be ordered by page views of something.

I can't see there being a drastic difference; the purpose of a portfolio is the same regardless of what's being shown. Perhaps there will be a stronger bias towards external links (for coding examples, websites, samples, etc) rather than thumbnails (though the "xhtml" coders might like thumbnails of "complicated" layouts).

A vBulletin hack to randomise the post listings would be good, in my opinion. Or perhaps listed according to iTrader rating perhaps... potential clients would no doubt like to see the most popular folks first since there's a reason they're the most popular! In either case, ordering by date doesn't seem like the ideal solution.
